Secretary Kathleen Sebelius

Kathleen G. Sebelius serves as CEO of Sebelius Resources, LLC, a strategic consulting firm that advises private companies, nonprofit organizations, and financial investors. From 2009 through 2014, Sebelius served in President Barack Obama's Cabinet as the 21st secretary of the department of health and human services. Sebelius previously served as governor of Kansas from 2003 to 2009. Previous elected offices include two terms as the Kansas insurance commissioner and four terms in the Kansas Legislature.
Sebelius serves as a director of Dermira, Inc., Myovant Sciences Ltd., and the Kaiser Family Foundation. She also co-chairs the Aspen Institute Health Strategy Group and serves on advisory boards for the Dole Institute of Politics, Solera Health, Out Leadership, the Estée Lauder Foundation, and the University of Kansas College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Sebelius holds a bachelor's degree from Trinity Washington University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas. Sebelius brings a wealth of state and federal government expertise, management insight, and health care experience to our board of directors, with deep knowledge of the systemic challenges and opportunities to improve healthcare.
